That's a HUGE performance boost for SPs. I knew it was a lot, but didn't know it would be that much. Thanks for posting this!Ryanhttp://blog.ryanhayes.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340788719090141711.post-13837230042909721722010-07-20T20:09:54.237+02:002010-07-20T20:09:54.237+02:00I'd try searching on the web...maybe u'r a...I'd try searching on the web...maybe u'r able to find some good resources (vids and stuff..) :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00030320835964434266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340788719090141711.post-91854367473007902662010-07-20T19:38:15.406+02:002010-07-20T19:38:15.406+02:00Databasese are also not my main interest, but soon...Databasese are also not my main interest, but sooner or later the performance question arises and then, as you sad, you have to understand how the DBMS works.
It would be very nice to take a good course on SQL Server which explains a bit what goes on behind the scenes, but it is very very difficult to find such a course or trainer...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14884047895668798987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8340788719090141711.post-3946518629842624652010-07-20T12:24:47.392+02:002010-07-20T12:24:47.392+02:00It is very interesting if you look at what goes on...It is very interesting if you look at what goes on behind the stages when your query is being processed by the DBMS. This makes it also very easy to understand the time differences and why one approach is faster than the other.
We went over this topic in a recent Oracle course. Extremely interesting although DBs are not really my favorite CS topic ;)

GreetsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00030320835964434266noreply@blogger.com
